Producted for an environmentally conscious client who wanted to incorporate 'Green Technologies' into their new family home. The primary role beside architectural input was to research and advise on the suitability of the many green products and technologies which are available today. The resulting dwelling utilizes technologies such a supper insulated Timber Frame construction offering Heat-loss values almost half of that which is required by the Building Standards.
Heating and electricity will be provided by 'Thermal Solar panels' and 'Photovoltaic Cells' respectively. Ventilation will be achieved by coupling a low voltage mechanical ventilation system to heat recovery plant to filter heat gained from rooms such as Kitchen and Bathrooms to bedrooms etc. Rainwater and 'Grey' water is also recovered in order to reduce overall fresh water consumption.
