Sam Woodside and Phil Parker
formed their Architects practice in the early 1980’s and
after over 20 years have designed many buildings in and around
Perth, the northeast of Scotland and have successfully managed
contracts on behalf of a wide variety of clients.
Commissions have differed greatly durning the life of the practice,
usually being determined by the current economic climate. These
range from nursing homes, individual houses, flats, commercial
and industrial interests. More recently, a castle conversion in
central Scotland and the Perthshire Visitor Centre have been progressed
through the office.
Works to historic and listed buildings have also been undertaken
and the practice was instrumental in recognising and establishing
Verdant Works in Dundee as a building of national importance (Grade
A listed) and as a museum of the Jute Industry.
We have worked with Housing Associations, major house builders,
Local Authorities and the Scottish Office. Current staff levels
vary according to work load but at present we have Principal -
